“After many years sharing beautiful ceremonies under the same roof it’s time to gather our energies together to rise up a new one” Basilio Payaguaje

Meet the Sieko’pai.

Basilio is a beloved elder who is holding the ceremonies at the Sieko’pai territory in Ecuador. For many years he has been sharing his wisdom and medicine to locals and visitors from all over the world. It has been a challenging journey to keep afloat this ancient tradition, for him and for everyone at his side, but thanks to all the efforts being done these beautiful ceremonies still echo through the jungle with the same old purpose, to honor and take care of Life.

The yaje lodge that has held us this last decade is getting old and we decided it's time to build a new one with the traditional techniques.

In this way, as the traditional house is being built, the elders pass their knowledge and the young people from the community learn the building techniques, the places where to gather the leaves for the roof, how to weave them, the different trees and materials used and many more details. Long work journeys where everyone is able to rediscover the richness of a breathtaking territory and culture and where the myths and stories of this unique tradition also come back to life.
